The Rudimentals return to the skank pit!

Finally, it’s the week we return to the skank pit... I don’t know about you, but I’m SUPER amped!!!

Firstly, a reminder to all of you that The Rudimentals will be playing the launch of Dockside’s Friday night live gigs this Friday. With Friday being a public holiday, this launch will take the form of a half-day festival, starting at midday, with the afterparty starting at midnight. There will be exciting things happening all day throughout the venue and they have also taken it upon themselves to cater for the "non-adults", so it is open to ALL AGES!

Post Hardcore/Screamo/Emo/Alternative band in the Edenvale, Johannesburg area looking for a bassist. Our influences include bands such as The Used, Story of the Year, Dead Poetic, UnderOath, Poison the Well, Taking back Sunday, etc. The person should be dedicated and should have his/her own transport. Own equipment is not neccessarily essential but would be prefered.

Ive listened to a lot of South african metal/hardcore/metalcore releases over the years, but ive never heard something like this coming from any SA metal/hardcore/metalcore act. The production/quality of the recording and songs = insane. Although aftertaste is my alltime SA hardcore act (and i wish they recorded their music with Hanu from The narrow instead)...

Toylands gig at purple turtle on the 17th was absolutly EVERYTHING i expected and more.
Their presence on stage was amazing and their sound was perfect.
The new members (andreas and daryn) have definitly moulded into the perfect toyland band and they are sounding better than ever.

Punk guitarist Johnny Ramone dies

Johnny Ramone had battled cancer for five years.
Johnny Ramone, guitarist in punk band The Ramones, has died at the age of 55 following a long fight against cancer.
He passed away at his Los Angeles home on Wednesday, surrounded by friends and family, said the band's artistic director Arturo Vega.

BASSIST, SINGER WANTED

We are currently a drummer and a guitarist, based around the durban area, well, from next year. We've both played in bands before, and have each been playing for about 6 years. We play hard alternative grungy rock, occasionally with a bit of manic thrash metal, and some mellower chilled out stuff too. We're looking for a DEDICATED and committed bassist, and possibly a singer too, who are really keen to make some intense, original, kick-ass music with us.
