Interview with Leek And The Bouncing Uptones!
Friday, August 02, 2002 - 01:00 AM
1. How different is the sound of "Leek" since you haven't got your trumpet player anymore? (only the trombone left) Are u still distinctively ska punk (or whatever)?Andrew: Well, we’re still playing most of the old songs without the trumpet, so I guess we havn’t changed that much. But we are moving to a lot heavier and a lot less ska these days. I guess we’re still ska-punk but a lot more hardcore. Sort of AFI meets Link 80.
William: Yeah, gone quite a bit harder. Mpho was more into hip hop and
chilled stuff where as the rest of us grew up with metallica, maiden,
korn slayer etc and then moved onto punk. So with the chilled
influence gone we're letting loose with the energitic hard stuff.
