November 2001	Dijit have recorded new material...not sure when it will be available. Neshamah are finishing their new ep on the 11th of november.
June 2001	Ridicule will be recording their debut Ep in July, so they might have something out by End July/September.
June 2001	Just bad news this time, No Comment broke up and there will be no new band.
May 2001	Good news and bad news.No Comment has broken up(bad news)....good news is that they've started a new band consisting of all the No Comment members as well as Rob (ex Joystick & Four Minute Warning).
April 2001	I decided to take the 'Pictures' section off, to save web space, seeing as we're running low on that. Most of the photos can be found on the bands' own websites.
April 2001	Hog Hoggidy Hog will be going on a national tour in support of their 2nd Full length album, 'Driving Over Miss Davie' They kick the tour off on the 27th of April in Brackenfell. For for info and tour dates visit their website : www.fishpaste.com
April 2001	Neshamah and Aftertaste went on tour to Gauteng, and Neshamah had an interview as well as a live performance on Etv's 'The Toasty Show'.
March 2001	Hog Hoggidy Hog released their second full length album ' Driving over Miss Davie' and it rocks. You can get it by e-mailing them or you can visit their website www.fishpaste.com
March 2001	I heard that Aftertaste recorded some new material at the Londen Connection. Not sure if they're gonna release it , and if, when.
February 2001	Apparently The Reptile House did not close down, and be sure to see some punk/hardcore shows there in the future
February 2001	New venue, The Reptile House, has closed down, so the Neshamah,Dijit,Aftertaste,Ridicule gig on the 24th of February will not be happening
February 2001	A Guy Called Gerald has changed their name to ' A New World Inside', and Francois and Papa Ruff have switched instruments..
February 2001	Neshamah and Aftertaste, our own hardcore acts, are going on tour to Jo'burg and Pretoria from the 12th till the 16th of April, after which Neshamah embark to the far away coast of The United Sates to play Cornerstone and tour around. Good luck bro's and sis, make us proud.Neshamah will be gone from 28 June - 14 July

February 2001	The Hogs have sorted out the problems and the release sate for 'Driving over Miss Davie' is set for Saturday 10 March, at the Purple Turtle.
January 2001	Hog Hoggidy Hog have encountered technical difficulties in the studio and have to re-record one of the songs, this is going to result in the release date for their new album being postponed until the end of Feb 2001.
December 2000	A Guy Called Gerald no longer exist, they will, however, reform under a new name, I'm not sure exactly if they'll be keeping their original line-up or songs. Keep checking this page for more info.
December 2000	Merry Christmas and happy new year.
December 2000	Diminished Return played their first comeback gig at the Big Tree last night, look out for future gigs by the longest running Cape Town punk band.
December 2000	There's a new rockabilly band on the scene, they call themselves Chicken and it consists of members from legendary ex-rockabilly bands, The Mavericks and The Bantam Cocks, both of which are probably before most of your times. The guys also run a pub called Crazy Cats, which is around the Corner from the Cornerhouse in town, where they play accoustic sets til all hours and serve great mexican food.
November 2000	Wow it seems like everyone's catching the recording bug, Ridicule are also going into the studio and should have something out by January
November 2000	Froy are busy recording at the moment
November 2000	Hog Hoggidy Hog have scheduled the release of their new album for the end of January 2001.
November 2000	Emo is evil
November 2000	New All-Star project, Stalin's Dog is will be making their debut performance early next year, it's apparently quite hush hush, so that's all the info that I've been given, apart from the fact that they're going to be creating quite a stir.
November 2000	Ex-Fungy gone West members, Andrew Chicken (trumpet) and Jay (original guitarist) have started a new band which will apparently be giging pretty soon, should be quite interesting.
November 2000	Joystick are apparently back on the scene and rumoured to be doing a reunion gig in the near future.
November 2000	Lee Lips will apparently be leaving the Hogs for a while to see his girlfriend overseas, but apparently will be doing the recording before he leaves and has said that he will be back. HHH do apparently have a replacement for him already, but that's all the information they're giving at this time.
October 2000	A Guy Called Gerald are also recording at the end of this month - so many exciting things happening, this summer the MuthaCity's gonna rock!
October 2000	LP Show have recorded an EP CD, which should apparently be available at the "It'S pUnK" party at the Turtle 4 November
October 2000	No Comment are apparently going into the studio at the end of the month to do a new recording, keep watching this site for more info.
October 2000	We all wish Neshamah luck as they go off on tour to Gauteng. They'll be playing gigs with the likes of Humphrey The Teacup, The Vendettas, Fuzigish etc. Check out the gig guide on punk.co.za for more info. Good luck guys!
October 2000	HHH's new Cd is apparentley going to be quite a treat, with a guest horn section with the sax player from Dorp, guest dub vocals from the guys from Firing Squad, as well as the Cd being an interactive multimedia CDRom, which will include the Time 4 Love video (that we'll eventually be able to see) I can't wait.
October 2000	Punk/ska bands that are planing to come to the MuthaCity on tour this summer include: Fuzigish (Jhb), PetFlyz (Pta), Shifty(Jhb),Tweek (Jhb) Humphrey the Teacup (Jhb) and Skirtbox (UK). Keep watching the MCP gig guide for more info, or join our mailing list.
September 2000	There is apparently going to be a punk mini-fest at Danie Uys park in October sometime with all the MuthaCity punk bands playing.
September 2000	I have confirmation that Fungy ARE going to do a reunion gig, along with Scoff, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Diminished Return & maybe Pothole. I don't know the dates yet, but keep watching the live shows section or join our mailing list.
September 2000	Fuzigish will not be coming down in October anymore, but they've said they will be coming down between Christmas & New Years.
September 2000	RumorHazard have made yet another line-up change! Their drummer, Warren, has left the band, but they will be carrying on as a four piece with the vocalist playing drums and the rest of the band doing vocals.
August 2000	Jo'burg ska kings, Fuzigish, will be coming down to Cape Town in October.
August 2000	Word on the street is that Fungy gone West are planning on doing a reunion gig sometime in the near future.
August 2000	Rumour has it that RumorHazard have added a trumpet player to their line-up in the form of new member, Nicky G.
August 2000	Authentic Idea's have organised a 3 day punk/hardcore stage at The Woodstock festival in Heidelberg, although this isn't a Mutha City event, Hog Hoggidy Hog will be representing the 021 crew up there.
August 2000	Dimminished Return are rumoured to be making a comeback soon, they're busy recording another EP, and should be playing live soon.
August 2000	There will be a Dead Kennedy tribute at Death of Pop III, which will be done by Fred Kennedy, an all-star side project band comprising of Fat Boy - ex-Pothole vocalist/guitarist, George Bacon - vocalist for HHH and Ken, Craig & Hey Would from The Cause.
July 2000	Papa Ruff (of Sheepskate and ex-vocalist/guitarist for Funy gone West, Joystick andThose Damn Liberals) will be joining newcomers, A Guy Called Gerald, on bass.
July 2000	A Guy Called Gerald's Bass player is leaving them.
July 2000	Hog Hoggidy Hog have anounced that they will not be playing live for a while in order to work on their ever elusive and long awaited new album, which they've said will be out this summer. Hog have discontinued ties with Way Cool Records and plan to self-finance the new album - so you better fucking buy it!

June 2000	All ages punk show scheduled for the end of the month at the Claremont Civic Centre.

May 2000	Ryan from Joystick is also leaving to go overseas. Rumour has it that he'll be replaced by Adam (vocalist from Pothole)
May 2000	Neshamah's long awaited CD: "The Grass Withers, and it's Flower Falls" is finished and will be available through Neshamah - email Neshamah
May 2000	Hog are going touring at the beggining of June and will be doing shows in J'burg, Pretoria and Bloemfontein.
May 2000	Tim and Don are leaving Neshamah, but don't worry it's apparently not the end of the band.
April 2000	The Death of Pop II, saw even more Unity and new Mutha City Punk bands on the scene.
April 2000	The Croakroom Records compilation, "Taking on the World" has been released, and kicks ass! Tracks to look out for are The Vendettas - "My Choice", Fuzigish - "Little Bird", Hog Hoggidy Hog - "Just a Lie", Leek - "Roll the Dice" and many more. March 2000	Organisation for "Punkfest 2K" is already taking place, it promises to be the biggest punk event in this country in history, it will probably take place in November or December 2000, venue not yet confirmed.
March 2000	The Death of Pop gig at the planet saw a whole lot of new CT punk bands, if anyone knows anything about them send CTP some info.
March 2000	Raffie, Dylan and Rob have teamed up with a new drummer and have started a band called Joystick - look out for them in the future.
March 2000	Don't Laugh have changed their name yet again to Serenade
March 2000	Hog drinking again - after a 2 months of being sober, Hog Drummer Davie, decides to carry on drinking

February 2000	There's talk of a Punkfest 2000 here in Cape Town. J'burg bands, Leek, Vendettas, Humphery the Teacup and Fuzigish have all shown interest in comming down here for it.

February 2000	There is talk of a new band in the making consisting of Papa Ruff (ex-FGW), Dylan Jones (ex-Neshamah), Geoff (ex-FGW and Scoff) and Rob (from PE band, Four Minute Warning). CTP will keep you updated.
February 2000	HOG Drummer Sober! - David Mybergie, alchoholic drummer for Hog Hoggidy Hog (and Pothole) has given up drinking.
January 2000	More tragic news, Fungy gone West have officially split up.
January 2000	Sadly, Andrew Chicken, trumpet player for Fungy gone West, has left the band.
January 2000	The Croakroom Records compilation is in production stages at the moment and is due for release at the beginning of March, it will be 70 mins of pure punk and will include international bands such as: NOFX, Millencolin and Limp, as well as Cape Town acts: Fungy and Hog.
