Ska Party - The Jam 2/11/2001
[Hog Hoggidy Hog, Fuzigish]
On arriving at the Jam, the place was pretty empty, but a lot of punkers were hanging out in the street and as soon as the Hogs hit the stage the place was packed. . These C.T veterans rocked the crowd from beginning to end, , the pit was crazy, a lot of beer was spilled and some people enjoyed the DIY slippery slide whether they wanted to or not.Next up ska kings Fuzigish took to the stage and the mayhem continued. If I"m not mistaken, they had a new drummer. They played some stuff that I knew from the Skankers Union album as well as new stuff , i think Fuzigish are in the process of recording the follow up to Skankers Union and I know that I for one will get my hands on it when it comes out.when the crowd asked for one more the played a cover of Rancid's 'I wanna riot'. Fuzigish played at Boogaloos skatepark the next day, but I couldn't make it.

Style X-over party- Purple Turtle 9/6/2001
[LP Show]
This was supposed to be a style cross-over party, but when I got there the only stuff being played was Papa Roach and the new Bouncing Souls CD, oh well....the place was pretty empty...most people were probably still wacked from the Jam show...LP show played, I think their first show since coming back from their nation-wide tour...and despite the lack of support they played well. I'm putting up their tour diary soon...check HERE...

Punk & Hardcore - The Jam 8/06/2001
[Neshamah. No Comment,New World Inside, Hog Hoggidy Hog]
So...fuck...now I have to think hard...this was a week ago...ummm...ok...dunno who played first....No Comment or New World Inside....No Comment played a rad set, this was their last show and they played good..., though their were only some failed attempts at getting a a circle jerk going...there was a request for Six Pack Girls, but I don't think they played it...I dunno why they broke up...it sucks....but hopefully this break-up will spawn some new bands...father time will tell us...New World Inside had some free tequila, so it goes without saying that the crowd enjoyed their set....I"m stumped, I can't remember anything else...sorry...I guess this is where I hit a blank...yes HIT, not SHOT ...then for some reason I can remember Neshamah's set...they played rad and once again the hardcore crew was jumping onto each other and piling to get to the mic for the sing-alongs....this was the last time I'll see them before they head for the States to play some dates in Chicago and the Cornerstone Festival....we hope you'll be good ambassadors for Cape Town hardcore over there....haha....Hog Hoggidy Hog weren't on the bill for the night, but they were all there and I think they played a surprize show, I'm not sure as I unfortunately left after Neshamah played...(unfortunately = pissed )....this was one shitty review sorry...I promise to pay more attention next time.

Ska Tissue Party - The Jam 18/05/2001
[New World Inside, Hog Hoggidy Hog]
This was one cool party/show. The night started off with some Dj's spinning rad ska tunes. The place was pretty packed by the time New World Inside went on stage.
They had the crowd going from the first song with their blend of pop-punk and horn arangements
. Next up was Hoggidy Hog. This was the first I saw them since they released 'Driving Over Miss Davie, so I could sing along, and it was fucking great. They also played some stuff from their first release. There was a rad healthy(?) pit going and the whole atmosphere rocked.

Style Crossover Party- The Jam 27/04/2001
[Dijit, Superfine]
Dijit played first, and even though they didn't have a lot of support they delivered a good solid set. The Jam was pretty packed, but there was no pit to speak of, except for 4 or so kids trying to get a circle pit going.Dunx threw some free beers into the crowd. After them was Superfine, Ithink that's what their name is, or at least the flyer said so They sounded something like Hootie And the Blowfish, mellow rock. Not really my cup of tea. The party went on till pretty late and I know of some people who would've regretted that last drink the moring afterwards.

Battle of the Bands - Purple Turtle - 21/04/2001 (i think)
[New World Inside]
This was another band slam at the turtle where the winners won recording time at the Londen Connection. New World Inside was up first and they rocked.
They just get better and tighter all the time. I think they changes they made was all for the better. I don't know if they won, but they got my vote, and I Won't be amazed if they did win. After them some rock bands played, I don't know their names.

Edgemead High School - hardcore & punk 30/03/2001
[Dijit, Neshamah, Aftertaste]
Like the previous gig at edgemead high, there was a shitload of people at this one, but sad to say , a lot of them probably just came 'cuz it was at their school. Never the less, it was good to see some familiar faces who came there from far to support the bands. First up was Dijit. Fuck, they only get better and better. They have some new songs that they regularly play, so I think a lot of people are waiting for them to get it on disc. Duncan stole the evening by swinging his guitar over his head and catching it again and then proceding to thank his mom and some individual in the crowd.. Next up was Neshamah. I'm not from the Northern - subs, but I think there are a lot of hardcore kids from that part. Neshamah also have a lot of new songs, alomost half their set is stuff that is not on their debut disc,' the grass withers and it's flowers fall'. They had a lot of support in the pit and crazy sing alongs as usaul. Next Aftertaste hit the stage with all the ferocity as they always do. Ryan joined them on stage for double up vocals with Chad. Once again, the pit was crazy and i think all the sweaty people were more than happy when they anounced that there's free Oros for everyone.

Hog Hoggidy Hog 'Driving Over Miss Davie' CD Launch - 10/03/2001
[Hog Hoggidy Hog, Curb Dogs]
As expected a lot of people pitched up for the occasion. I have never seen the purple turtle this full. As i walked in the 'Hogshop' greeted me. I wasted no time in purchasing the new full length HHH album. First up was Curb Dogs, a touring band from Bloemfontein. I really enjoyed this band. They had a very energetic set with good, straight forward fast punk. I hope to see this band again soon. They rocked....but....next up was the Hogs...yeah...they stole the show, but what could you expect, this was their cd launch. They started and the pit was crazy... fucking crazy...they blasted through some of their new material as well as old crowd favourites from 'Fishpaste and Vibe'. They had free tequila to give away and the crowd happily accepted...the night went on and the Hogs kept on rocking the Mother City. I heard that they sold 70 copies of the cd that night, it's good to hear that the band got the support from the cape town punkers. They took their time to get the cd done as good as they could and organized one cool release party. Sure, I can tell you how much it rocked, but I guess you had to be there.

Whammy Bar, Table View - 021 hardcore & punk - 24/02/2001
[Aftertaste,Neshamah,Ridicule]
well, lets say the night started out really crappy when some cars had a massive accident right next to club, and hit a light pole down, woah the pole fell right next to justins car, it like missed it but 30cm, now hows that for strong angels ;), we were busy eating in nandos when our punkass friends from ridicule ran to us, damn we were lucky it didnt fall on justins car, like everything just happened around it, that was awesome!! ....ok so the show...the whammy bar, first time ive ever played there, the last time we were ganna play there my ex guitarist got majour sick, and i swore id never play there haha well we did, first up aftertaste did a bit of a sound check, man i got goosebumps and butterflys in my stomache that song is my fav, it has this majout build up wooooohooo, i can tell you bro, hxc is life, i dont think anyother music syle can get me so excited, aftertaste had a rocking set, the club is long and narrow so it made it real fun to dance in, aftertaste played a tight and powerful set, even without bass!!you guys were sick and get sicker everytime!! next up neshamah, we had a ran set, i had to try not to hit kids in the face with my guitar head because the stage is so small and i do allot of throwing around with my guitar ;) well often i was squashed to the back of the stage, but thats the whole fun of it, it rocked!! next up da ram our very own really cool ridicule!! i love this band, crusty as hell, it really rocked dancing around to them even though i kept on having to jump off the stage cos i was shuved foward onto it the whole time...ridicule are rad, and raddest guys, theyre playing next weekend too cant wait to go support our bros, well im out jen heavy cool hxc in typical ct hxc style...sing along all round...heavy and groovy..get you jumpy at every show...gained respect of all hxc fans in cpt...also just released 2 song ep, lifeblood..check it out.

Afterparty in the park - Boogaloos Skate Park- 27/01/2001
[Neshamah, Blunt]You just had to be at this show!...Great venue for a 'gig' and what an awesome turn out. From the beggening of the evening people were itching to go off...when the time came it was insane stuff! First up neshamah with the hardcore intertainment, they were so sick!!! What can i say the gang vocals get more intense at each show. To my surprise the skateboarders ramp we all piled onto held out even with all the hardcore jumps and kicks. I was so glad to see more chicks this time round really enjoying the music and getting down - Rad guys - ROCK ON! Next up was Blunt - rap-core style. A five piece band with two vocalists. They played a good set with a couple of skateboarders using their music as a guide to showing us a thing or two. Rad show all-round!...For those of you who missed out, tuff luck guys - but look out for this venue in the future.... - nina

Joystick Reunion - The Purple Turtle - 25/11/2000
[Joystick, Dijit, Neshamah]
I was quite excited to see Joystick again. And I guess I wasn't the only one. There's was a little less people than I expected to pitch up, but the pits were still as crazy as ever. Dijit played first, and delivered another cooker of a set, filled with speed, emotion and even some old rock riff. Next up was Neshamah. This was their first gig in quite a while... and I could feel the tension as the eager pit-slammers waited for them to start. Juan sported a new guitar, and I have to say it did it's job perfectly, Ryan from Joystick joined Matt on vocals for one song, which really kicked ass. Next... yes... you guessed it, the long awaited return of Boystick (oops I mean Joystick). Well, Raffie obviously don't know too much about lingerie, 'cuz bra's aren't there to keep the sun out of your eyes. Sorry to burst your bubble, I just thought it would be in your best interest to know that. Needless to say, Joystick rocked...a lot. As always, the jury decided that 'Joystick Sucks!' The crowd was skanking away like it was the end of the world, and Joystick just kept on delivering the goods. All in all the show rocked... all the bands did... as well as the whole atmosphere.

IT's PUNK - Purple Turtle - 4/11/2000
[No Comment, Ridicule, LP Show, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Dijit]

When attending the DOP4 I was a little worried about the scene as it seemed that there weren't too many people at the show, but the last too gigs I've been to have removed any doubt that I might have had about the MuthaCity punk scene. The turnout for this gig was great! First band on was No Comment, who for the first time actually played in a slot where people got to see them and the crowd went off to them and rightfully so because they rocked. Second was Ridicule who pulled off another great set of boere punk and Ridiculous humor that had everyone sakkie-sakking along. LP Show hit the stage next, and wow, if I was impressed with these guys the first time I saw them, I was REALLY impressed this time, if you've never seen them before, they're sort of like a surf-punk mixture of Pennywise and Millencollin, they're set did go on for quite long, but they didn't have any lack of great songs to take up the time. Hog Hoggidy Hog were up next, man, I was scared for my life at some stages in that pit, groups of 4 or 5 people stage diving at once, bodies flying all over the place - hectic. They also played a new song which I really enjoyed. Dijit ended off the night with another cooker set, unfortunately, I think by this time some of people who'd been going absolutely sick in the pit the whole night just didn't have the energy to dance anymore, but nevertheless a great show.

Punk/Hxc Minifest, Danie Uys Park - 27/10/2000
[Ridicule, Dijit, Neshamah, Aftertaste, A Guy Called Gerald, No Comment]

Upon arriving at the venue, I was most pleasantly surprised, the place was filled with hundreds of keen punkers, I even saw about 10 mohawks. Ridicule was the first band on, I only arrived right at the end of their set, but what I did see was pretty cool. During the break before the next band, some guys were throwing beer bottles at each other which caused a bit of situation, I'd just like to say to these guys, no matter how punk you thought that this made you, wasting beer is NOT punk. Dijit were up next and had a brilliant gig best I've ever seen them. Next up were Neshamah, who got one motherfucker of a pit going, which really looked quite scary even to a seasoned punker like myself. Aftertaste went on next and have changed a lot since the last time I'd seen them, they seem to have moved away from their Korn sound to a more punk/hardcore vibe, they even did a bit of ska, really good band. Now for those of you who weren't there, try to imagine a soccer field full of punks running around, and you would come somewhere close to imagining how cool this show was. Then was A Guy Called Gerald and Papa Ramone, even though they played out of tune they rocked and had a high speed whirlwind of skanking punks going throughout their set. By about 23:00 people started leaving, which was a pity, because No Comment played next, and there wasn't much of a crowd left, these guys always seem to get the worst time slots. Anyway for those who did stay, it was well worth it, and by the end of their set they had Francois (AGCG), Dunx (Dijit), Raffie (FGW/AGCG) and George (HHH) up on stage singing with them. All my faith in the MuthaCityPunx scene has been restored after this gig - The Next Danie Uys gig is in January, be there or be fucking sorry.

Death of Pop IV - 14/10/2000
[No Comment, Slag, Dijit, Ridicule, A Guy Called Gerald, RumorHazard, Hog Hoggidy Hog, The Dread Kings, LP Show]

I’ve now been to all four of the Death of Pop shows, and each one is totally different, this one, wasn’t as full as the last one, but it was still fuller than most other mainstream shows that I’ve been to recently. The first band was RumorHazard, who seem to be improving with every gig, which is always a good sign, they did a cool Fungy cover, and every song was apparently their favourite. Next up was a new band, LP Show, they rocked, they were tight, they had good song structure, and were also pretty original with some interesting musicianship.. A Guy Called Gerald took the stage next, and were also very cool, and a lot tighter than I’ve seen them before, I’m actually really digging this band lately. Next up were Dijit who, although they probably got the bummest deal as far as sound is concerned, were really good and got the crowd going mad. Next up was the Return of HHH, George has shaved a blue mohawk in his hair and drummer, Davie, was dressed up in drag. They might be a bunch of weirdos, but man can they play, they played a great solid set including a cover of Stand By Me, which although it’s been done before, it was by far the best rendition of the song that I’ve heard, and by this time the dance floor had turned absolutely wild. No Comment played next and also played really well, NC are apparently going into the recording studio soon, I can’t wait. The next band to play were the kids from Ridicule, so much energy, so much passion and so much punk - I love these guys, they really have a good thing going, lets hope they stick to it. Then it was the Dread Kings, a brilliant reggae band who, at a punk gig, had at times, probably the most punks on the floor and singing along with them. Last but far from least, was Slag, now Matt (drummer from Diminished Return) usually plays drums for them, but he wasn’t there, so David Mybergie (Drummer from Hog) was asked to play. Davie was still wearing his skin tight mini-skirt, with no underwear I might add! It was the most entertaining thing I’ve ever seen - Not Davie’s thing, I meant Slag. Anyway jokes and ambiguity aside, the night rocked.

Death of Pop III - 12/08/2000
[No Comment, Slag, Dijit, Ridicule, A Guy Called Gerald, Neshamah, Rumour Hazard, Fred Kennedy, The Worst Band in the World... Ever, Diminished Return, The Dread Kings, The Bare Ass Project...etc]
The Death of Pop is definitely becoming one of Cape Town’s biggest punk events, and DOPIII has been the biggest so far. I didn’t get to see all the bands, so I won’t pretend that I did, out of the bands I did see the one’s that impressed me the most were newcomers, Ridicule, who were doing their debut gig, and what a debut it was, they were like a mixture between Op Ivy, Rancid and old Nofx and pulled it off brilliantly watch out for this band in the future. Another band that I was impressed by were The Dread Kings, they weren’t a punk band, but a straight reggae band, they were however very good, but started getting a bit nervous when a few punks started stage diving to their music. No Comment & Neshamah were great as usual, and A Guy Called Gerald who were the crowd favourite of the night were cool, they did a couple of Fungy songs, now these kids are young and have a lot of potential, I just wish they would work on being a bit tighter. Diminished Return played a song near the end and it was also Rumour Hazard’s debut gig, and they did quite an amusing cover of South Park’s, Uncle Fucker. Lastly was Fred Kennedy, an underground all-star side-project, consisting of members from HHH, Pothole and The Cause doing Dead Kennedys covers. Now they only went on at about 2 in the morning, so needless to say the club had pretty much emptied out but they still managed to get the remaining lurkers onto the dance floor and surprisingly got a cool little pit going, Well that was my impression of DOPIII, can’t wait til the next one.

Claremont Civic Center 23/06/2000
[The Dirty Locals, A Guy Called Gerald, Neshamah, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Dijit, No Comment]
Oh great, another one of these alcohol free parties. This time, however, I came prepared. The venue was fucking huge, if you had told me a year ago that we'd be having a punk gig in there, I would have laughed, but there was a very good turn out, it sort of reminded me of the old River Club gigs. The first band were The Dirty Locals who are made up from ex-members of Fungy, Scoff and Damnatia, who were doing a sort of old school punk ska meets thrash crossover with new school influences hybrid. Next were A Guy Called Gerald doing their debut gig, they had passion and energy that I haven't seen in a while from a new band and the crowd loved them. Next up were the new and improved Neshamah playing their first gig with their new drummer and guitarist, their set was short and sweet but they rocked. Hog Hoggidy Hog took the stage next & man did they take the stage, they were tighter than ever and kicked some serious ass. Dijit were releasing their CD and sold 29 COPIES due to a cooker set, they had some girl singing in their last song which was quite refreshing too. No Comment ended off the night with yet another great set dressed in Afros, these guys are actually quite wacky. Another great night in the Mutha City, I was also impressed by the amount of females in the audience, I did however feel like a bit of a dirty old man perving over them, but I couldn't help myself.

Death of Pop II - 30/04/2000
[Joystick, No Comment, Froy, Slag, Obnoxious, Dijit, Hog Hoggidy Hog]
A whole lot of punk bands doing punk covers, after attending the Death of Pop 1, I thought I knew what to expect from D.O.P. II. Well I was wrong the whole vibe was a lot different. Although all the bands playing were punk bands, there seemed to be a lot more variation in music styles, all the bands were very different. No Comment opened up and got the crowd going. Next was a new band Froy, who played a cover of Roxette’s "How do you do". Next Joystick played their brand of melodic pop/punk which got the crowd pumping, they ended off with a cover of 99 Red Balloons in German with guest vocals by Markus (ex-Scoff) and Phillip (ex- FGW). Hog Hoggidy Hog were up next and were missing their trumpet player, they nevertheless pulled of a cooker set of covers, they only played two originals, but what was quite cool, I thought is that the crowd was more interested in those two songs than any of their covers even though they played them really well. Dijit were next and did Reggae version of a Marilyn Manson song, a Brian Adams song, and lots more, by this time the crowd support on the floor had turned totally wild. Slag went on next, these dudes are just the fucking coolest thing since sliced pizza. Obnoxious finished off the evening with guest vocals by the infamous Errol Bong and Bingo playing Noddy songs throughout their set. This gig was weird, there was no one group of people that dominated the crowd, I saw bikers, new school skater punks, metal heads, old school crusties, under age chicks, goths, rastas, you name it they were there and there was no feeling of exclusion or elitism from anyone, everyone was just there to have a good time and they did. One small step for all the sub-cultures involved, but another giant leap for unity in the Mutha City Punx scene!

The Easter Punk Rawk Show
22/04/2000 @ The Purple Turtle
23/04/2000 @ The Jam

[Leek, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Dijit, Neshamah]
Fuck! Due to circumstances beyond my control, I missed what was apparently the best punk gig yet in the Mutha City. If anyone was there who can write me a review on the gig please email it to me.

The Death of Pop - The Planet 19/03/2000
[Dijit, Obnoxious, Immortal Slave, Slag, The Thick Fads, Diminished Return and friends]
This was a marvellous day for punk in Cape Town It was the Birthday party for Old die hard punker Ernie P, the idea was that a whole lot of punk bands would do punk covers of old pop songs. Well firstly when I got there, I’d never heard of half of the bands involved so natrually I was pretty excited. Looking around it was like the old Arties days, the club was filled with old crusty punks and faces that I haven’t seen for years as well as a couple of new school skater kids and all sorts of other weirdos... All coming together at one place for the sake of punk - UNITY! First up the kids from Dijit did an inpromtous set, I must say that this is definitely the best that i’ve ever heard these guys before, and they fucking rocked, I was still feeling hung over from the Alternative Nation party the night before, but as soon as they started I immeadiatly woke up and thoughrougly enjoyed their whole set, they also did a brilliant cover of Brian Adams’ summer of ‘69. Next up was Slag, now these dudes were pretty fucking crusty, Matt, the drummer from Diminished Return was helping them out on drums, and the other two dudes were like in their 40’s and looked like a couple of unemployed alcoholic postmen crack heads (look maybe a bit judgemental, but you really had to see these guys to believe them) They started off and everyone was like, are these dudes for real, but after one or two songs everyone had realised that this was probably the most hilarious band anyone had ever seen, the whole audience was rolling around in laughter at their lyrics and antics. They ended off their set with a song called “No Fucking Words” and the lyrics were “This song has no fucking words” repeated over and over again they rocked. Next up were TheThick Fads, Papa Raff’s new project. The vocal melodies worked very nicely together but they didn’t seem to have had too many practices together, they ended off their set with a freestyle rip-off hip-hop song with Dunx and Papa Raff rapping. Look out for them in the future they’re going to be called Joystick. The next band was Immortal Slave, I don’t know why they had a Satanic Doom Metal Goth one man band on the bill anyway. Next up were some dudes that again I didn’t catch the name of but I believe that one or two of them used to play in the old Durban punk band, Outrage I only caught a bit of their set, but what I did see of them was really cool.
Next up were Obnoxious, they hadn’t played in quite a while, and they said they hadn’t practiced in a while but they rocked, it was probably the best that I’d seen them too, Ol’ Mike Da Punk was on top form with his obnoxious comments and his praises to beer with the illustrious Bingo playing some weird Noddy song through their entire set as well as doing an angle grinding display and showering the dance floor with sparks Obnoxious were back and they were bad, another fucking cool set, I unfortunately had to leave after them and didn't get to see the end of the show, but this night I thought was a big step towards total unity in the Cape Town scene.

Unity in the Scene - Danie Uys Park - 10/03/2000
[Hog Hoggidy Hog, Dijit, Neshamah, Aftertaste]
The gig got off to a late start which was a bit annoying as no one told me that they wouldn’t be selling any alcohol, luckily I had a 6 pack in the car to pass the time with while I waited for the bands. Aftertaste started off the show and were bloody good, but probably could have been a little more original. Following them was Dijit who finally got to play with decent sound, they were cool and had members of the audience coming up and hurling abuse at everyone over the PA. Neshamah were up next and even though they started with a few minor technical difficulties they rocked, the rest of the crowd was digging them too. Lastly Hog Hoggidy Hog took the stage, now I’ve been a Hog fan for years but lately every show I go to of theirs, they seem to just get better. They started off with an excellent cover version of Britney Spears - Baby One More Time, by the end of their set they had the entire crowd going mad for more Hog, my only problem with them was that they only played half of the Britney song. Anyway the gig was cool and next time I’ll remember to bring more of my own booze.

Alternative Nation - 18/02/2000
[Fungy gone West]
Fungy had obviously decided, if they're gonna go down, they're going out with a bang, which is exactly what they did here. The venue wasn't as full as the previous Alternative Nation Party, but it was full enough. Fungy came on stage with bassist Phil, dressed as a woman, trumpet player, Chicken, dressed as the Devil and Papa Ruff dressed as Winnie the Pooh! During the course of a cooker set, Raffie disappeared backstage and came back out after having stripped down to his boxer shorts and soon Chicken did the same. A couple songs later, Raffie got a bit pissed off with all the chicks screaming for Chicken and not him, so he went backstage again, this time reappearing wearing nothing but his guitar. The crowd response to the whole show was crazy, and by the end there were quite a few injuries - but what's a good show with out any minor casualties.

Ruby in the Dust - 29/01/2000
[No Comment, Dijit, Suburbia]
No Comment started off the gig, I've never seen this band before, but man I'm glad I caught them, they rocked the whole way through their set they had the entire Ruby punking along to their tunes. Next up was Dijit who were cool too they also had a nice healthy pit going, but although this was probably the best I've ever heard Dijit, they didn't seem to be too happy, nevertheless the crowd enjoyed it. Good to see George from HHH and Raffie from FGW supporting the new bands in the pit. Next up was Suburbia - they sucked.

Alternative Nation - 15/01/2000
[Hog Hoggidy Hog, Fungy gone West]
Wow! was this a punk show! The venue was The Jam, which normally hosts mainstream acts like The Springbok Nude Girls and BOO!, but on this night to mine and probably a lot of other people's disbelief, Fungy and Hog had packed the place out. FGW started off the night and couldn't help but rock the hundreds of keen punkers in the audience, but to the seasoned Fungy fan I could see that there was something missing, and I was right because little did everyone know at the time, but this would be the last FGW gig with their current line up. Next up was Hog, and man these dudes seem to just be getting better and better, George has cut his hair, and came on stage wearing a girls school uniform and by the end of a killer set, they had the entire club singing along with them. after Hog the DJ's from Alternative Nation and Skankville kept the party pumping until dawn. A few more parties like this one please guys.

Planet Punk - 13/11/99
[Fungy gone West, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Dijit]
I would say that this gig was a turning point in the revival of punk in Cape Town. The club started filling up at about 20:00 - 20:30 with a lot of new faces and a lot of old faces that I haven't seen for a while either. The opening band were newcomers to the scene, Dijit, who were doing their first big gig, their stuff was cool and they got quite a cool mosh pit going, but the sound was unfortunately quite bad I hope to hear them again soon with a decent sound. Next up was Fungy, who kicked ass as usual with their new set sounding really solid, I even saw one or two metalheads in the audience enjoying their stuff. Last but not least it was Hog, now I think they've defiantly played better gigs, but the Hog vibe that made them so cool a couple years ago was back, and they rocked. The newer songs seemed to go down really well and rightfully so, especially John & Philip's Song, which had basically the whole audience singing along. The vibe of the whole gig was really fun and really punk
